What does it mean "Maintenance Required" light on an Acura MDX?

My 2003 Acura MDX's "MAINT RQ'D" light came on while I was driving. Now, its a steady light. Its not the "check engine" light but it is now lit and I am worried it might just stop in the middle of the road.|||generally that means it is time for an oil change and if you had your oil changed recently then they forgot to reset it. good luck and Merry Christmas|||most new cars will throw a cell light ( check engine light) when the oil needs changed. . thats the first thing i would check but no it should not quite on you if you have a auto zone near you they will check it for free|||Might be time for an oil change.|||check all fluids, oil, water, battery, tansmision, power sterring, then check filters oil, air, pvc valve, etc.|||Its time for an oil change no doubt about it.|||I have a Honda that will set off a light when it's time for an oil change. I assume it means the same thing because Acura is the luxury version of Honda. If you just recently had this done, then there should be a little knob somewhere near the light that will reset it.|||time for an oil change... after the oil change hopefully they reset the light...the book in the glove box will tell you how to reset the light.. look under maintance or oil in the back//
