Is a 2009 Acura MDX a good car for a 16 year old boy's first car?

I was wondering because that is what I am thinking of buying him for his 16th.|||Too nice.





It's perfect if you are trying to teach him that you are going to give him whatever he wants for the rest of his life and you want him to live at home until he is 30.





If you want him to value hard work and experience living in the real world, you would be smart and buy him a $5,000 car and make him pay for the gas, maintenance and insurance with a after-school job.|||It's a great car but i would suggest buying him something a little bit older than that because that is a pretty great deal of money that you are going to be spending on the car itself and also the insurance considering it's a luxury sports car and he is a boy.|||Yes it's a great car, but I would suggest a Volvo XC90 over it... also you might want to get your son a cheaper car to get used to driving before you go off buying him an Acura. I started on a Chevrolet and now I'm driving a Lotus.|||No. Kids wreck cars why would you buy him something pretty new and expensive. By the time he hits 18 he will probably have been in at least 1 accident and trashed anything he has been driving even if it wasn't damaged in 1 of those accidents.|||It is a great car. It is very safe and has the ACE body structure. As long as you make him promise never to get a scratch of his own doing on it, it should be great.|||If you want to spend lots of money on an ugly car, then yes. If you're going to spoil him at least do it the right way. Get him a BMW X3|||Yeah its a great car for a 16 year old. Also consider a Toyota Rav4. They have better reviews than the MDX.|||dont buy him that.





Buy him a Ford Mustang GT.





Cheaper, faster, exactly what a 16 year old kid wants|||I think a nice used car should be good because he is just gonna ruin it and i think Acura's part is $$$$|||A compact car (Civic, etc) will be easier to drive and cheaper to repair and maintain. Or a smaller SUV like a Rav4.|||do you know what males do with there 1st car? i wrap mine around a pole doing 60mph..buy him a beater.
