Does a RCA audio cable work to connect your iPod to a 2010 Acura mdx?

I'm trying to connect a RCA audio cable to the RCA port on my 2010 Acura mdx and and I want to know if this will work before I buy the cable|||There is no place to plug an RCA cable into an iPod. What you need is an interconnect from the Acura to the iPod connector.
